The new, standardised ‘cannulation’ courses offer learners the opportunity to learn cannulation in a four-hour course.  This single skill course is being offered as an alternative to the ‘combined venepuncture and cannulation course’ in which both skills are taught in only four hours and that fast pace is not suitable for everyone.  Some clinical areas only require one skill for their role and the single skills courses offer them the opportunity to learn that.

Learners are required to complete the B. Braun eLearning package prior to attending the cannulation course and will not be admitted to the face-to-face course if it is not completed. A link to the eLearning package will be sent out to learners via email, prior to attending the course.

If you would like to book on to a single skill cannulation course and there are no dates available, please contact Kerry Laffan at the Clinical Skills & TEL Hub on k.laffan@nhs.net to request this.  If your area required numerous places for the same skill, we may be able to deliver a bespoke skills session just for you.
