This trial was a large international study looking at the use of Tranexamic acid in the treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) haemorrhage. This study is important as GI bleeds account for 60000 hospital admissions in the UK each year. With around a 10% mortality rate, it is important that we explore ways to improve this. The study is now in its final stages of data collection and we hope to have the results in early 2020.
