A sample of 50 paediatric patients who are having routine surgery under general anaesthesia we recruited into this trial. The aim of the study is to reduce sore throat in children undergoing general anaesthesia by reducing intra- operative pressure  variations in paediatric Microcuff endotracheal tube cuffs. It compared inflating the cuff with air (standard care) and water. It is thought that using water inside the cuff will reduce the amount of gas exchange and therefore reducing the likelihood of the cuff hyper inflating.
