This exciting one-day workshop combines the teachings of venepuncture and cannulation in one course. This workshop is aimed at NUH staff who are already familiar with both skills and can learn at a rapid pace, as the combined day has less time to practise than in the singular courses. In the morning session, participants will benefit from learning the theory behind their new skills, consisting of teaching on:

  • Anatomy & physiology
  • Consent
  • Local policy & procedure
  • Infection Control & Hazards
  • Equipment
  • Documentation

In the afternoon practical workshop, participants will benefit from being able to consolidate their knowledge and gain experience practicing on our simulation mannequin arms, in a safe, controlled environment under the supervision and guidance of our skilled senior interprofessional educator.

Who will benefit:

The course is for NUH nursing and allied health professionals that already have knowledge and experience with both skills.

Venue:

DREEAM Department, A Floor West Block, QMC Campus, Derby Road, Nottingham, NG7 2UH.
