Course Overview
The Maternal Emergency Course is specifically designed to empower emergency medicine trainees with the essential knowledge and skills required to effectively manage and navigate through critical obstetric & gynaecological emergency scenarios.
This comprehensive course addresses a range of life-threatening emergencies commonly encountered in the emergency department.

Start and finish times:
08:30 – 16:15 (breaks built into the course timetable)

6 simulations will be practiced on the day:
1. Ruptured ectopic pregnancy
2. Cervical shock
3. Pre-eclampsia
4. Resuscitative hysterotomy
5. Precipitous delivery
6. Post partum haemmorhage
Course Methodology:
The Maternal Emergency Course adopts a blended approach - e-learning & simulation-based training, and hands-on workshops. Trainees will have the opportunity to practice critical procedures, such as resuscitative hysterotomy and management of postpartum hemorrhage, using high-fidelity simulators and realistic scenarios. Expert faculty, including experienced obstetricians and emergency medicine specialists, will guide trainees throughout the course, providing valuable insights and feedback.
