This study is based in the intensive care unit. It involves randomising patients who have been started on antibiotics for sepsis. The aim of the study is to compare three treatment options: Standard Care, daily monitoring of CRP (C-reactive protein) and daily monitoring of PCT (procalcitonin). Both CRP and PCT monitoring could help reduce the duration of antibiotics but which one is the best test for managing antibiotic therapy is not known.
